What it does

Cortex AgentiX is Palo Alto Networks' platform to build, deploy and govern security agents. The product page says it powers the Cortex Agentic Assistant across Cortex XSIAM, Cortex XDR and Cortex Cloud, offers a library of specialised agents (blog posts cover a Case Investigation Agent, an Automation Engineer agent and AI-driven phishing response), lets administrators define when agents act independently or need human approval, runs agents within existing roles and permissions with visible reasoning, and supports 1,100+ integrations plus MCP. Palo Alto's Cortex Cloud 2.0 release (Oct 28, 2025) describes a workforce of autonomous AI agents in its CNAPP that investigate and resolve cloud security issues within enterprise guardrails, with upgrades to 2.0 rolling out in the first half of 2026. Volume claims (for example training on 1.2 billion responses) are vendor marketing. Pricing is not published.
