What it does

freee made two agent products generally available to Japanese accounting and tax firms on Sep 15, 2026. 'freee 顧問先管理 | AIエージェント' provides prebuilt agents that progress firm workflows once a client and workflow are selected: a bookkeeping agent (automatic journal entries and document matching from receipts and statements based on past entries and rules, with staff checking only flagged items), a rule-maintenance agent (learns and proposes automation rules), a monthly-check agent (detects BS/PL/consumption-tax balance gaps, double entries and negative balances) and a tax-return-check agent (reconciles corporate tax filings made in freee against accounting data). 'freee Agent Hub' is a no-code platform for building custom agents in natural language that connect to non-public freee APIs, run on a scheduler (for example overnight bookkeeping) and isolate each client's context and credentials. freee describes the design as 'responsible AI': the AI presents hypotheses and evidence the first time, human-confirmed decisions become firm rules, and exceptions or important judgements go back to people.
